Mini-Me(s)

It's funny I don't think the boys look identical to each other...however, they do look identical to Josh and I when we were young.  Very strange to look at your children and see yourself!  So, I have posted a picture of me compared to Jaxson and a picture of Josh compared to Foster.  CRAZY, huh!

Enjoy.

...Halloween costume pictures coming soon!

 Me somewhere around 4-6 months.
Jaxson at 3 months.

 Foster at 3 months.
Josh around 3 months.

Criss Cross Applesauce!

So my in-laws delivered 25lbs of freshly picked apples yesterday...and I spent the majority of today making homemade applesauce! FYI...for those of you wanting to make applesauce it is very messy and I'm not sure I could have done it without my KitchenAid! We now have quite a supply of applesauce...let's pray they like it!

Trick or Treat!

This past weekend was a very busy one!  I've been secretly planning a surprise birthday party for Josh and went off without a hitch on Saturday (thanks to some very sneaky friends)!  We couldn't really celebrate Josh's 30th birthday properly as we had just welcomed our boys two weeks prior, therefore I decided to throw him a surprise party later on to mark this momentous occasion!  It was a Halloween party and everyone dressed up...including Jaxson and Foster!  Jaxson got a little startled when he saw himself in his costume, I don't think he knew what to think!

We finally carved our pumpkins from the pumpkin patch on Sunday.  We thought we might have a cute photo op with the larger pumpkin but it didn't quite work out as planned!  We hollowed out the center then cute two leg holes and attempted to put the boys in for pictures.  Foster HATED the pumpkin...as soon as his feet touched the inside he screamed, not a fan.  Jaxson on the other hand kind of liked it!  He actually sat in the pumpkin long enough for us to take a few pictures...see below.

In addition to all the fun over the weekend we've made some fun developmental strides as well!  The boys are beginning to reach and bat at their toys, they attempt to hold their bottle while feeding, and they are continuing to roll over!  Foster is doing excellent with his physical therapy and his torticollis is nearly gone!

The boys are growing like crazy...I wish I could capture everything on film or in photos.

The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown err...Jaxson and Foster!

Today we visited Hall Family Farms in south Charlotte for our first pumpkin picking adventure!  Grandpa and Nana joined us on the search for the perfect pumpkins!  I'm not sure if the boys will remember our trip but Josh and I will!  We also had a mini photo shoot in the front yard this afternoon!  We made sure they dressed for the occasion...see pics below!

3 months!

The boys are 3 months old as of yesterday.  Boy, time is flying!  Some fun things that happened this week...

Jaxson has found his thumb and starting sucking it rather than his whole fist!  Foster has started rolling over a little more...I have yet to catch either one on camera!  We have moved up to the bigger bottles, they seem to want to eat all the time!  I guess this is preparing me for their teenage years.  I attempted to put them in their Exersaucers this week but they are still too small.  They do like to sit in their Bumbo seats, however not for very long.  They are really becoming expressive...they smile and coo a lot!  I think my favorite thing is when I wake them up for their 5 am feeding and I get the biggest smiles from both of them!  They seem so happy to see Josh and I first thing, it melts my heart.

Tomorrow we are heading to the pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins...stay tuned for stories and adorable pictures!

Meeting Great-Grandma!

We made a trip to visit my Mama (grandmother) and Jaxson and Foster's great-grandmother!  She had not yet seen the boys and didn't know we were coming...it was a great surprise!  She was so excited to see the boys that she told nearly everyone in the assisted living center they were there.  My favorite part of the day was seeing Mama's face when we walked in, I think we all teared up!  It's pretty special to have 4 generations together in one room.  It reminded me of spending time with my great-grandmother, Mamaw B.  I had some very special moments with her and will never forget her asking me to "hug her neck", give her "sugar", and telling me to "stay all night".  She is also solely responsible for my toboggan addiction!  I hope Jaxson and Foster get to experience special moments like these as well.  We also went to see my great aunt and uncle and cousins.  It was great getting to introduce the boys to more of their family, it was truly a special day!

Foster rolled over!

Foster rolled over today!  This is pretty exciting, I finally caught one of the boys rolling over.  I believe this is the first time Foster has rolled, Jaxson learned this two weeks ago.  Jaxson has rolled over a total of 3 times (at least that I know of)...however, I've only see him roll over once (my hubby always catches him).

I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to post constantly throughout the day (that's a Twitter thing, right?)...but I thought this news was big enough to warrant a second posting.

Until next time...
